Conventional grout cleaning often does not deliver the desired result because with purely chemical cleaning, dirt and residues deep inside the grout are often not fully reached. In particular, porous cement-based grout absorbs limescale, soap residue, biofilm and grease deep into the upper material layer, which often causes the joints to become permanently dark.
Fugentorpedo is a mechanical grout-cleaning system based on the use of industrial diamonds as an abrasive. The principle is simple and effective: mechanical pre-treatment + suitable cleaner + protection. By carefully sanding the upper dirty layer, the surface of the grout is opened up so that cleaning agents can work much more effectively.
To help prevent the grout from becoming dirty again too quickly after cleaning, it is advisable to protect the grout afterwards. You can find out how this works here:

Fugentorpedo® is intended exclusively for cleaning cement-based tile grout indoors. Before use, always test in an inconspicuous area first to ensure that both the grout and the surrounding surface are suitable.
Fugentorpedo® is not suitable in particular for:
Important: Always work with light pressure and guide the grinding bar precisely inside the grout joint. Improper use may cause damage to grout, tiles or adjacent surfaces.
1. CHOOSING THE CORRECT GRINDING BAR WIDTH

First check which grinding bar fits the grout joint you want to clean. The bar should be neither too wide nor too narrow.
Grinding bars for Fugentorpedo® are available in 2 mm, 3 mm and 5.5 mm widths. These correspond to the most common grout widths.
TIP: Use the grout-length chart to calculate the running metres of grout.
Important: Always use the grinding bar that matches the grout width as closely as possible. An unsuitable grinding bar may unnecessarily affect adjacent tile surfaces or reduce cleaning effectiveness.
2. INSERTING THE GRINDING BAR

Insert the grinding bar into the groove of the handle until it clicks audibly into place.
Note: Before use, check that the grinding bar is correctly seated and securely locked in place. Do not use damaged or heavily worn parts.
3. SANDING THE GROUT JOINT

TIP: For short joints or hard-to-reach areas, the Fugentorpedo hand grinding bar is ideal.
